BlastGARD Window Security Film Guards Hoover Dam

ATLANTA—The Hoover Dam has contracted with ShatterGARD to increase safety of the facility for workers and visitors. While the dam itself has no glass or windows, other areas of the complex such as the visitor’s center and parking garage do. Hoover Dam has a large administrative staff, equipment to operate the dam, sensitive computer equipment and hundreds of visitors a day who come for dam tours.

ShatterGARD films are normally applied to the interior portion of a facility and on the interior portion of the glass but that wasn’t possible this time. A good portion of the glass surrounding the parking garage was inaccessible from the inside due to obstructions. Because the glass had to be installed on the outside, it had to be specially treated to withstand the area’s weather conditions.
